Right about now is that crazy time in the garden center when we are switching the seasons from Fall to Winter. All the oranges, reds and yellows are coming down and Christmas trees are dotting the landscape like a mini forest!
The poinsettias are just starting to 'colour up', as we call it.
It is a pretty exciting phenomenon for the garden center and greenhouse staff. Many people may not realize that behind the garden center we have four acres of greenhouses were we grow all of our own poinsettias. The poinsettias were planted in July, so after months of green, it is a welcome relief to see some hints of colour!
Around mid November the plants will completely change and the greenhouses become a beautiful red sea. That is when we all start to feel very festive!!!
The trees are mostly bare at the moment but our design gurus are working away at getting our inspirational displays up for your viewing pleasure. We have something for just about every taste from traditional to glitzy. Personally, I love anything retro and I noticed this year that we have a couple silver trees that look very 'mid century modern' and I can't wait to see how the designers decorate them!
We will see you soon for more updates on our Christmas preparations!
